Seaweed body wraps are all the rage at the spa, and not that difficult to do at home. According to website Savvy Homemade, seaweed contains vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to the skin. Adding coffee grounds to the mix may help eliminate cellulite. CBS reports that studies show caffeine absorbed through skin may reduce fat and swelling. Science has yet to ratify the positive effects of either seaweed or caffeine absorption, but a body wrap is a convenient way to spent some alone time relaxing and soothing sore muscles.

Step 1

Place 8 oz. of dried seaweed into a mixing bowl. Add two to three cups of coffee grounds to the seaweed and mix.

Step 2

Pour in just enough tap water to make a thick paste.

Step 3

Mix your choice essential oil with almond or olive oil and stir this compound into the seaweed paste

Step 4

Lay an old shower curtain or a shower liner down in the bathtub. Stand on the curtain inside the tub and apply the paste to your body. Start at your feet and work up. Once completed, lie down on the curtain and wrap it around your body.

Step 5

Stay wrapped up for 20 to 30 minutes and then take a shower to rinse off the paste. Run the shower over the curtain and hang it out to air dry before folding up and storing for the next time.
