According to "Foundations of Nursing," hands commonly become dehydrated due to exposure to soaps and detergents, resulting in chapped and dry hands. Mixing sea salt with a few other ingredients can create a healing hand cream that will soften and rehydrate hands. The cream only takes a few minutes to make.

Step 1

Mix 1/2 cup sea salt, 1/2 cup olive oil, 2 tbsp. coconut oil and 1 tbsp. rosemary oil together in a small bowl with a spoon until the mixture becomes a smooth cream, which will take about five minutes. According to "Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice," these ingredients, when mixed together, form a cream that will hydrate hands and repair chapped skin.

Step 2

Massage the cream into your hands and refrigerate any leftover cream in a bowl covered with plastic wrap.

Step 3

Allow the cream to warm up for at least 20 minutes prior to reapplying.
