The treatment of cellulite is a multi-billion dollar industry. However, for all of the money spent on trying to prevent and remove cellulite, few of the treatments actually work. There are only a handful of cellulite treatments that offer visible, measurable results.

Anti-cellulite Diet

Changing your diet is one of the most effective ways to reduce the appearance of cellulite. The high-fat, low-fiber diet is a major contributor to cellulite. Eat a diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables and full of good fats, such as the kind found in fish and olive oil. Avoid junk foods, excessive amounts of alcohol and other empty calories.

Endermologie

Endermologie is a type of anti-cellulite massage that can only be done at a dermatologist’s or plastic surgeon’s office. Enermologie works by using a vacuum like device to massage the skin, redistributing the fat back under the connective tissues. It is a temporary fix and requires many weeks of treatments when first undertaken and then monthly treatments thereafter. Endermologie is best done on those who are fit but still have cellulite and are between the ages of 30 and 45.

Exercise

Exercise is one of the cheapest and most effective ways to fight cellulite. Ultimately cellulite is simply fat that has broken through the connective tissues that keeps the fat under the surface and distributed throughout the body. Exercise and resistance training helps you to lose weight and build muscles, giving the body a firmer, smoother appearance. Combine a strenuous cardio workout such as running, jogging or power walking, with resistance training three times a week for the best results.

Cellulite Lasers

Lasers that help melt fat and firm skin are used to fight cellulite. These lasers use suctioning rollers and, in some cases, infrared light, radio waves and massaging rollers to reduce cellulite by repositioning the fat back under the connective tissues, boosting collagen production and actually melting the fat. According to Health.com, the FDA clinical trials of this form of laser treatments yielded visible cellulite reduction in 100 percent of patients, with 75 percent having at least a 50 percent decrease in the appearance of cellulite.
