With dozens of skin care products on the market, each promising to outdo its competitors in terms of efficacy, it can be hard to choose which product to buy and add to your daily beauty regimen. Don't trust the hyperbole and ads sponsored by manufacturers. Instead, go with a product that's received a good rating from skin care experts and beauty professionals.

Avon Anew Clinical Derma-Full X3 Facial Filling Serum

Skin care expert Paula Begoun tested Avon's facial anti-wrinkle serum and called it "very good." She says it promises "dramatic firming and plumping," thanks in part to its use of glycolic acid. The University of Maryland Medical Center reports that this acid can encourage collagen production and soften fine lines and wrinkles. Begoun lists additional beneficial ingredients, including anti-wrinkle peptides and mica pigments that instantly brighten your skin.

StriVectin Overnight Facial Resurfacing Serum

StriVectin, best known for its stretch mark products, offers an anti-aging serum designed for mature skin to improve its complexion and tone. The beauty editors of "Harper's Bazaar" magazine recommend it as an easy fix to "get glowing." Beneficial ingredients include antioxidant rose extract, exfoliating sugars and willow bar extract, plus a type of retinol. The latter helps fight wrinkles, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. If you have sensitive skin, you'll be glad that StriVectin doesn't include irritating parabens.

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-in-One Facial Cleanser With Toner

"Real Simple" magazine's beauty staff rate Dr. Dennis Gross' skin cleanser as one of the best cleansers for normal skin. They praised its ability to remove all types of skin debris and residue, including makeup. The magazine also praised its use of witch hazel and hyaluronic acid, the latter which helps moisturize and hydrate the skin's surface. Additional beneficial ingredients include vitamin E, oat kernel extract and antioxidant-rich grape-seed oil.

Clinique Sun SPF 30 Face Cream

The sun is a leading cause of wrinkles and other forms of skin damage, and Clinique's facial sunscreen is one of the best, according to Begoun. She called it "outstanding," and says it goes above and beyond standard sunscreens by including broad spectrum protection, cell-communicating ingredients and anti-wrinkle antioxidants.
