Hydroxycut is the name of one of the leading brands of dietary supplements in the world. Manufactured by Lovate Health Sciences, Hydroxycut has over 750 different products sold in over 70 countries worldwide. Used to lower weight and increase energy, Hydroxycut is most commonly ingested in pill form, which is composed of a variety of chemical ingredients that may or may not be beneficial to your health.
Liver Damage
The buzz surrounding Hydroxycut stems from an FDA recall of the product because it has been shown to cause severe liver damage. In 7 years, there were 23 reports of liver problems in those taking the supplement to control and reduce their weight. Of these 23 reports of liver injury, one death was attributed to taking Hydroxycut. Another liver injury was so severe it required a transplant operation.
Lesser Side Effects
If you take hydroxycut as part of a weight loss plan, you may experience some minor complications due to the formulation of the brand. Its high caffeine content can lead to feeling jittery and restless, headaches and increased perspiration. You most likely will also experience a loss of appetite, but because Hydroxycut is a dietary product, that is to be expected.
Potentially Dangerous Side Effects
Liver damage is the top of the list when it comes to serious side effects associated with Hydroxycut, but there are other symptoms that could lead to serious problems if not monitored properly. The side effects include an increased heart rate and higher blood pressure.
