If you want to save money, one step you may take is cutting out expensive beauty salon treatments. For example, coloring your hair at home is much cheaper than paying a beautician to do it in a salon. L'Oreal offers an all-over hair color called Natural Match. Although this product is discontinued in the United States, it is still available from online sources. Natural Match comes in 22 colors.
Blondes
L'Oreal Natural Match offers three tones of blond colors. Shades marked "W" for "warm" have golden undertones and those marked "C" for cool" have ash or beige undertones. Shades with an "N" for "natural" have neither, allowing your hair's natural tones to show through the color.
L'Oreal also uses the numbers 3 through 9 to designate Natural Match Shades. The number 3 designates the darkest shades of L'Oreal Natural Match and the number 9 is for the lightest shades. Other shades fall in the middle and are assigned numbers based on their shade--the darker the shade, the lower the number.
L'Oreal Natural Match offers two natural blonde shades--7N Dark Blonde and 8N Medium Blonde. There is also one cool and warm blonde color, 9C Light Ash Blonde and 9W Light Golden Blonde, respectively.
Brunettes
The majority of L'Oreal Natural Match colors are a shade of brunette. Brunette shades use the same number and letter identification system as the blond shades do. The available natural brunette shades are, from lightest to darkest, 6N Light Brown; 5-1/2N Soft Medium Brown; 5N Medium Brown; 4-1/2N Soft Dark Brown and 4N Dark Brown.
Cool Natural Match brunette shades are 6C Light Ash Brown, 5C Medium Ash Brown and 4C Dark Ash Brown.
There is one warm light brunette shade, 6W Light Golden Brown. Warm medium shades are 5W Medium Golden Brown and 5-1/2W Soft Medium Golden Brown. Warm dark shades are 3W Brown Black, 4W Dark Golden Brown and 4-1/2W Soft Dark Golden Brown.
Black
There are two L'Oreal Natural Match black colors. Both use the same number designation, as black is the darkest color. One, 3N Natural Black, is a natural shade. The other, 3C Darkest Black, is a cool shade. There are no warm shades of black available.
Auburn
L'Oreal Natural Match also offers two shades of red, or auburn, hair color. The auburn shades do not use the tone designations that the blonde, brunette and black shades do. Instead, they use the designation "R" for "red."
Color number 6R is Light Auburn and 5R is Medium Auburn. There is no dark auburn shade available.
