Features

Buck Hill skiing resort was one of the first to offer winter sports in Minnesota. The creation of Buck Hill was for ski racing and it has an annual snowfall of sixty inches with complete snowmaking coverage all over the terrain. It has 45 acres with fifteen slopes for you to ski on and has 11 lifts, which include two quads and a triple chairlift. Buck Hill has three terrain parks: Halfpipe, The Knob and Railroad. The two freestyle areas are Skunk Hollow and Deer Run. The longest run at this ski region is 1,250 feet.

Lessons

Buck Hill offers skiing lessons for adults and children. If you're age 13 or older, you can take a skiing lesson in the adult category during the months of December, January and February. Buck Hill requires you to pre-register. Beginner, Intermediate and Expert levels are available. For children ages 4 to 6, Buck Hill has skiing lessons called Little Bucks that last for 90 minutes. The Buck Hill Cruisers are two-hour skiing lessons for ages 7 to 12. Skiing lessons for your children are available at any ability level..

Programs

Buck Hill also has skiing programs available for children and adults. The Ski Challenge program involves skiing on teams, even if you don't have any experience. Another racing series Buck Hill offers is the Midwest Masters ski racing, which is for all levels of racing. NASTAR is a program with timed runs in a giant slalom racecourse. You can participate in the NASTAR program at any age. The Ski Racing Development Team is for skiers in the age group between 6 and 18. It entails learning racing fundamentals and competition.

Season Passes

You can purchase a season pass for skiing in Buck Hill, Minnesota, at any time on-line or over the phone. A new photo is required every year for a season pass. Proof of age is mandatory when you purchase children's passes. For children under age 5, they can ski free with your adult pass. You also can use Buck Hill season passes at Seven Oaks and Ski Snowstar Winter Sports Park. These ski areas may only let you use your Buck Hill season pass a certain number of times..

Rental Equipment

All ages can rent equipment at Buck Hill. You can rent a regular ski package, which includes skis, boots and poles. You can also rent regular skis, boots and poles separately. Other ski equipment rentals are high performance ski packages, high performance skis only and high performance boots only. Choose high performance equipment if you're an advanced or intermediate skier. If you rent high performance equipment, you'll need to pay a security deposit.
