In reference to baseball organizations, the term "senior league" most often means older divisions of youth leagues rather a league for older adults. Players in senior leagues are typically between 13 and 16 years old. Different baseball organizations--such as Little League, Dixie League and Pony League--have different bat specifications for their equivalent senior leagues.

Little League

The Senior League division of Little League requires that the standard diameter for all bats be 2-5/8 inches. In addition, the length of the bat in inches has to be within 3 of the weight of the bat in ounces.

Dixie League

Dixie League baseball allows bats made of wood, metal or graphite for players 13 and older. These bats should have a barrel diameter of between 2-1/2 inches and 2-3/4 inches. Dixie League bats also must follow the negative-3 weight-to-length ratio, just like Senior Little League.

Pony League

According to the Pony League guidelines, bats can be made of wood, metal, graphite or ceramic. The barrel of the bat cannot exceed 2-3/4 inches in diameter, and it cannot be more than 42 inches long.
