You don't have to visit a fancy salon to get waxed. You can remove unwanted body hair in the comfort of your own home using a home wax kit or simple ingredients you can pick up at any grocery store. Home waxing can save you money and time. Let your hair grow to at least 1/8 inch long before waxing, and perform a test wax on a small patch of skin to make sure you won't react to any of the waxing ingredients.

Hot Wax

A home hot wax kit to will remove unwanted hair anywhere on your body. You'll find the kits for sale at any beauty supply or drug store. Hot wax kits come with a brick of wax, cloth hair removal strips and an applicator. Follow the instructions that come with your kit for heating the wax to ensure that you don't burn yourself. Once the wax has reached the proper temperature, apply the wax using the applicator, then press the cloth strips over the wax. To remove your hair, quickly pull the cloth strips away from your skin. The cloth will remove the wax and your hair all at once. If any wax is left behind, use baby oil to remove it.

Cold Wax

Cold wax is similar to hot wax except that it does not require heating. Drug stores and beauty supply stores sell cold wax kits that come with cloth or paper strips that are already covered with wax. Apply these strips to your skin, then pull them off. Cold wax is easier to use and less painful than hot wax, but it does not stick to the skin as well as hot wax, so you may need to repeat the waxing process more frequently to get all the hair off.

Sugaring

Body sugaring is a process that is similar to waxing. Sugaring has been used as a form of hair removal in India for centuries. To make a sugaring paste, combine 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup water in a pot, and simmer for 25 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool completely. To use the sugaring solution, scoop up a handful of the sugar paste, and press it against your skin, then pull it away to remove hair, as you would with waxing strips.
