Ridding your body of cellulite doesn't have to be an expensive endeavor. While there are many expensive cellulite treatments, some of the most effective cellulite removal techniques will cost you little to no money. The cellulite removal industry is a multi-billion dollar business that offers many ineffective products. Instead of spending your money on something that may not work, try some cheaper solutions and get better results.
Body Scrubbing
Body scrubbing is used to help increase the lymphatic and blood flow and to help redistribute the fat back under the connective tissues. Brush dry skin with a body brush with natural bristles in a circular, clockwise motion. Start at your ankles and continue brushing up your legs and thighs, to your stomach and arms if needed. Use light, long and brisk movements. The entire process should take three to five minutes to complete.
Exercise
Exercise is the most effective way to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Since cellulite is simply fat that has moved to the surface, a good hard workout is an effective way to lose that fat. Exercise and resistance training help you lose weight and build muscle, giving your body a smoother, firmer appearance. Try a combination of cardio and resistance training, a minimum of three days a week. Perform more strenuous cardio workouts such as running, sprints or step aerobics for the best results. Also, add resistance training that is specific to the area of your body affected by cellulite.
Massage
While there are more expensive anti-cellulite massage therapies, regular at-home massage can work to reduce cellulite, albeit on a temporary basis. Massage helps with blood and lymphatic flow and helps redistribute fat back under the connective tissues.
After a shower, dry the excess water from your body, but leave your body damp. Next, oil the areas you need to massage. Using your fist, massage your skin in a clockwise, circular motion moving in firm, wide strokes across the affected area. The entire process should take no more than 10 minutes and can be done every day after you bathe.
Coffee
Coffee is a cheap cellulite treatment that is used in place of expensive cellulite creams. Warm up some used coffee grounds. Mix the warmed coffee grounds with some olive oil. Place newspaper on your bathroom floor. Apply the coffee oil mixture to the areas of your body with the cellulite. Use plastic wrap to wrap the area and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Unwrap your body and take a warm shower to remove the coffee grounds. Repeat two times a week for best results.
