Cleansing masks unclog your pores, gently removing the collected dirt and sebum that can trigger acne and make your skin look dull. When you make your own facial masks at home, you can tailor them to fit the needs of your skin using fresh, wholesome ingredients from your kitchen and garden. Masks made with oatmeal gently exfoliate while absorbing excess oil. Milk and fruits, such as apples, berries and apricots, rejuvenate your skin by dissolving dead skin cells.

Honey and Oatmeal Deep Cleansing Mask

Step 1

Whirl the oatmeal in the coffee grinder to pulverize it. Pulse the grinder for 5 to 10 seconds at a time until the oatmeal is a fine powder.

Step 2

Mix the ground oatmeal with the honey and yogurt in a small bowl. Add just enough warm water to soften the texture to a spreadable consistency.

Step 3

Apply the mask to your face after washing it with a nonsoap cleanser. Avoid the area around your eyes.

Step 4

Relax for 10 minutes, letting the mask dry.

Step 5

Rinse your face well with lukewarm water, then pat it dry gently with a clean towel.

Orange Cleansing Mask for Dry Skin

Step 1

Beat the egg yolk and orange juice together with a fork. Continue beating the mixture until the yolk is creamy in texture.

Step 2

Add the honey and then the almond oil, beating well after each addition.

Step 3

Apply the mask to your face after you wash. Avoid the sensitive skin around your eyes.

Step 4

Let the mask dry on your face for a 1/2 hour.

Step 5

Rinse the egg mask off your face with cool water, then gently pat it dry with a soft towel.

Rose Mint Cleansing and Rejuvenating Mask

Step 1

Chop the rose petals and mint leaves finely.

Step 2

Grind the oatmeal in a coffee grinder until it is a fine powder.

Step 3

Mix the mint leaves, rose petals and heavy cream in a small, non-reactive sauce pan. Heat the mixture slowly till bubbles form around the edge. Lower the heat and simmer it for five minutes.

Step 4

Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in just enough oatmeal to make a thick paste. Allow the mixture to cool until it is warm to the touch, but not hot.

Step 5

Massage the mask onto your face gently, avoiding the area around your eyes. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse your face with cool water. Pat dry gently with a clean towel.
