Epsom salt is also known as magnesium sulfate, an element that can help draw toxins from your body. Magnesium sulfate is found naturally in the body, yet many people are deficient in this essential element. According to the National Academy of Sciences, magnesium deficiency can be linked to several ailments such as stroke, osteoporosis, digestive issues, stress and fatigue. Sulfate creates enzymes in the pancreas that detoxify the body as well. However, supplementing with magnesium or sulfate is difficult as the stomach does not easily absorb either one, but both can easily be absorbed through the skin.
Step 1
Fill a bath tub with enough warm water to cover the majority of your body. Hot water can be used as well.
Step 2
Add 2 cups of Epsom salt to the bath. Pour 1 cup directly into the stream of warm water; disperse the other cup should be evenly over the rest of the water.
Step 3
Soak in the tub with Epsom salt for at least 10 minutes, which will give your body the time to absorb the sulfate. Soak in the tub at least three times a week.
