London's Soho district is a vibrant district where West End theaters meet funky health food restaurants. People who enjoy exercising outdoors can tour the area on foot or bicycle. When its time to rest, one of Soho's vegetarian eateries will provide a place to relax and refuel. No matter what their interests, people are bound to find creative ways to celebrate their health while getting to know the unique culture of Soho.

Bicycle Rentals

Adventurous travelers who want to explore Soho independently can rent bicycles by the hour or day from a bike rental company, such as the London Bicycle Tour Company. In the summer of 2010, London unveiled a new bicycle-hire scheme that allows people to sign up to rent bicycles around London for 30-minute trips--just enough time for a quick spin around Soho. Members of the scheme can take as many 30-minute trips as they want each day, or pay a fee for longer journeys not exceeding 24 hours.

Berwick Street Market

For over 200 years, Berwick Street has housed a street market that sells fresh produce. Open Monday through Saturday, it is a popular place to eat, with workers flocking to the street at lunchtime to buy fruits and vegetables or dine at nearby cafes. Other goodies on sale include clothes, fabrics and records. Visitors can reach the market by exiting at Tottenham Court Road underground station and walking through Soho Square.

Yoga and Pilates

Amid the theaters and cafes of Soho, several yoga and pilates studios beckon fitness lovers. Triyoga on Knightly Court offers drop-in yoga and pilates sessions for all ages and skill levels. The Bikram Yoga studio on Bolsover Street has inexpensive 10-day passes for first-time visitors who want to experience hot yoga. The Third Space, Soho's primary fitness center, offers one-to-one hour-long pilates sessions, with the option of including a friend in the session to split the cost. For those who want to practice yoga outdoors, Soho Square Park is a quiet area to exercise solo.

Rock Climbing

Rock climbing may not be the first activity that comes to mind when thinking of exercise opportunities in a large city, but it is a popular sport in London. Soho is home to a London fitness center that has a massive rock climbing wall for brave climbers to scale. The Third Space fitness center's three story wall has several route choices, allowing beginners to gain confidence with basic climbing opportunities while more advanced climbers improve their skills. The center frequently changes the routes to give regular climbers fresh challenges.

Healthy Dining

Visitors who want to rest their feet and enjoy a healthy meal will find a diverse range of health food restaurants in Soho. Beatroot on Berwick Street and Mildreds on Lexington Street feature vegan and vegetarian menus for health-conscious diners. Vitao on Wardour Street uses organic ingredients to create a diverse menu for vegetarians, vegans and diabetics, among others. Food allergy sufferers and diners on macrobiotic diets will also find food that suits them at Vitao.
