In addition, the museum offers free parking, virtually impossible to find in downtown Seattle these days. Typical of the green movement in Seattle, the museum offers 15 percent discounts on its coffee if you re-use your Frye Museum coffee mug. The Travel Channel even named this as one of the top 10 free museums in the United States.

At the park is the Volunteer Park Conservatory, where you can spend the day in nature, walking among some of the most exotic plants and flowers in the Pacific Northwest. The Conservatory is free to the public and open everyday except Monday.
Be Entertained by Fish
This may be touristy, but one of the funnest, and don't-miss things to do in Seattle, is visit the Pike Place Market. Surrounded by fish and seafood and wonderful organic produce, the market is best known for the charming fish mongers that work there.
Kids, along with the young at heart, will laugh as the fisherman whip fish at each other and perform shows with live lobsters even the most inventive children would be amused by. And it doesn't cost a cent to watch the show.
Walk Along the Beach
Seattle might not compare to Hawaii or California when it comes to optimum beach weather, but the beaches do have their own unique charm. Alki Beach is a 2 1/2-mile stretch of water between Duwamish Head on Elliot Bay and Alki Point.
Even on a windy winter day, the walk along the promenade is stimulating and a touch romantic when done with a loved one. In summer, the beach is filled with rollerbladers, bicyclists and sunbathers.
