Commercial products containing oatmeal are easy to find, but it isn't necessary to spend big bucks on an oatmeal facial when you can make your own facial out of oatmeal that you can buy at your neighborhood grocery store. An oatmeal facial mask is good for any skin type and will retain the skin's natural moisture, cure minor irritations, remove dirt and impurities and exfoliate the skin gently, according to YGo Beauty Tips.

Oatmeal Cleanser

Step 1

Place one small, ripe banana in a small mixing bowl. Mash the banana with a fork.

Step 2

Add 1/3 cup rolled oats, 1 tbsp. natural honey and 2 tbsp. orange juice. Blend well. If desired, substitute 2 tbsp. plain, organic yogurt in place of the orange juice. Yogurt is especially beneficial for dry skin, according to Fat Free Kitchen.

Step 3

Wash your face with warm water, and then smooth the oatmeal facial mask into your damp skin. Allow the mask to remain on your face for 20 minutes, suggests "Marie Claire."

Step 4

Rinse the oatmeal facial mask from your face with lukewarm water. Pat your skin dry with a soft towel.

Step 5

Apply your favorite moisturizer to your face.
