Eyeshadow brushes, like other makeup brushes, can be an expensive part of your beauty kit. Higher quality brushes are often made from goat, pony or sable hair and are designed specifically to give you the freedom to apply your eyeshadow for the exact look you're trying to achieve. While a high end-eyeshadow brush may be made of a better quality material, it is important to clean your eyeshadow brushes regularly to maintain them properly and make them last.
Step 1
Run your eyeshadow brush under warm water, taking care to hold the handle upwards at a 45-degree angle. This will prevent water from pooling inside the handle.
Step 2
Pour a drop of shampoo onto your forefinger, and then rub your forefinger and your thumb together to spread the shampoo.
Step 3
Rub your eyeshadow brush gently between your thumb and forefinger to distribute the shampoo evenly among the bristles.
Step 4
Rinse your eyeshadow brush under warm water until all of the shampoo is gone and the water runs clear. Take care to hold the handle upwards to keep it dry.
Step 5
Wring out the excess water from the brush by rolling it in a dry washcloth and squeezing gently.
Step 6
Remove your eyeshadow brush from the wash cloth and carefully reshape the bristles into their original form.
Step 7
Place the brush on a dry wash cloth or hand towel and allow it to air dry completely before use.
