Mature skin over 40 has different needs than younger skin. Collagen production slows down, skin elasticity decreases and skin cell turnover slows. Another type of skin change is photodamage from sun exposure. The products you used in your 20's will not work the same. Skin care products made for mature skin will provide the best results. Aveda has three mature skin care collections: Less Visible Lines and Wrinkles, Less Visible Dark Spots and Increase Skin's Radiance. The line that targets lines and wrinkles includes cleanser, toner, face-firming cream, line minimizer, eye firming cream and exfoliators.
The line that reduces dark spots can be used as a mature skin care line or for anyone looking to reduce dark pigmentation spots. It is full line with options for both oily and dry skins. It does not contain any wrinkle or firming creams.
The skin radiance line includes exfoliators, hydrating creams, sunblock and radiance fluids. It does not include cleanser or toner.
Lavera Products
Lavera is another green company. Their products are certified organic by the Certified Natural Cosmetics guidelines of Bundesverband deutscher Industrie- und Handelsunternehmen, BDIH, in Germany. All their ingredients are obtained from organically grown plants and they do not do animal testing.
Lavera has an Anti-Aging Hydro Collection. It contains cleansers, toners, moisturizers, lifting serums, eye creams and sunblock. The Anti-Aging line has skin products suited to normal, combination, problematic, acne, dry and damaged skin types.
The active ingredients include bio-hyaluronic acid, sepilift, cova extract, phytocollagen, CoQ10, bamboo extract, white tea and vitamins.
Avalon Organics
Avalon Organics has been making organic cosmetics since 1994. They use 100 percent vegetarian ingredients in all their products and do not test on animals, according to the company literature.
Avalon Organics has two skin collections that target mature skin needs a vitamin C line and a CoQ10 line. Both have a full compliment of cleansers, toners, moisturizers and serums. They also offer a line of "Intensives" that are concentrated serums that have vitamin C, CoQ10 and other organic compounds.
