Sattler, Texas, lies less than an hour northeast of San Antonio in Central Texas, also known as the Texas Hill Country for its rolling hills. The Riverside Resort, located between the major attractions of Canyon Lake and the Guadalupe River, 10 miles from Sattler, offer cabins, RV sites with hookups, and tent camping. Amentities include picnic tables, barbeque grill pits, swimming pool, bathhouse with flush toilets, and a volleyball court.
The Lakepointe Resort offers 88 full and partial hook-up campsites and tent camping. Amenities include a playground, volleyball court, Junior Olympic-size pool, and rec center.
Outdoor Attractions
Sattler, Texas, is an ideal camping spot for those who are inclined toward outdoor recreational activity. Water attractions include Canyon Lake and the Guadelupe River as well as the Canyon Lake Marina, which offer a long list of water sports, including scuba diving. There are also several parks which offer hiking and biking trails. Golfers will enjoy golfing at local clubs such as the Canyon Lake Golf Club or the Bandit Golf Club.
Canyon Lake
Canyon Lake, with a surface area of over 8,000 acres and 80 miles of shoreline, is located about 10 miles from Sattler, Texas. A scenic attractions, it is a recreational treat for campers in the area. Campers may be able to spot wildlife such as foxes, roadrunners, and deer. Activities include boating, waterskiing, scuba diving, parasailing, and fishing. Canyon Lake has eight public parks with hiking trails, as well as two marinas, 23 boat ramps, and a campground.
Guadelupe River
The Guadelupe River winds 25 miles through Comal County, where Sattler, Texas is located. A scenic river with stretches of white water, the river offers a variety of water sports for Sattler campers including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and tubing.

Sattler experiences hot, humid summers and mild winters, making camping in the area a year-round activity. If you want to avoid the summer weather, which can also bring thunderstorms and heavy winds, camping in the spring and fall may be an ideal time for you to go. Winter may be a fine time for camping near Sattler, but with cool daytime temperatures and chilly nights, you'll want to make sure to bring plenty of extra warm clothing.
