Wrinkles--those tell-tale signs of aging--usually appear on parts of your body where there has been the most sun exposure. Smoking, heredity and complexion type also play a role; if your skin is fair, you are more likely to develop wrinkles. MedicineNet.com notes that--unlike deep furrows--fine wrinkle lines may respond to non-surgical treatments. You can make a natural remedy for fine wrinkles at home. Apply a small amount to your wrist 24 hours before use to make sure you're not allergic to any of the ingredients.

Step 1

Pierce three vitamin E capsules with the tine of a clean fork, and drain into a small bowl. Stir in 2 tbsp. of plain, unsweetened yogurt with active lactobacillus cultures, 1/2 tsp. honey, and 1/2 tsp. lemon juice.

This wrinkle remedy utilizes four different substances to fight wrinkles. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, destroying the free radicals that damage cells, while yogurt contains lactic acid. According to MedicineNet.com, lactic acid, along with antioxidants, has the ability to produce improvement in fine surface lines. Lemon juice is a natural antiseptic, antioxidant and astringent that can help tone and tighten skin. As for honey, beauty experts and herbalists alike have extolled honey's healing properties, along with its antibacterial, antiviral, and humectant--or moisture-attracting--qualities.

There is some scientific research supporting this belief. In a study titled "A Prospective Randomised Clinical and Histological Study of Superficial Burn Wound Healing with Honey and Silver Sulfadiazine," conducted at Dr. Vaishampayan Memorial Medical College in India and published in the March 1998 issue of the journal Burns, researchers found that honey performed better in controlling infection and promoting wound healing than silver sulfadiazine, a common burn wound treatment.

Step 2

Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture to your face. Focus on the outer edges of your eyes, where crow's-feet wrinkles can begin to develop, the area around your mouth, where laugh lines can occur, and the middle of the forehead, where a pair of vertical lines can appear. Try not to get the mixture in your eyes; if you do, rinse with cool water. The mixture may be messy to apply; work over a sink or wear an old shirt or smock.

Step 3

Allow the remedy to remain on your face for at least 10 minutes.

Step 4

Rinse your face with splashes of cool water and a washcloth. Pat your face almost dry, then apply a good-quality commercial or natural facial moisturizer.

Step 5

Repeat the wrinkle remedy weekly for best results.
