Genetics, the aging process, collagen loss, environmental factors and repeated facial expressions contribute to the formation of wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead. Simple, natural remedies such as exercise, taking antioxidants and staying hydrated can help slow and reduce the formation of forehead wrinkles.

Exercise

Exercise improves blood circulation and relieves muscle tension, which can both improve the overall look and vitality of your face. Without proper blood circulation, your face--along with the rest of your body--doesn't get the maximum amount of oxygen and nutrients from your diet. Constant tension in facial muscles can physically squeeze skin, leaving indents as you age. Facial exercises, therefore, present a twofold solution to achieving a supple, youthful looking face. To work the muscles in your forehead, close your eyes and pull down on your lids while lifting your eyebrows. Lift and lower your eyebrows to stretch and flex the muscles of your forehead.

Drink Plenty of Water

By keeping yourself well hydrated, you can help maintain and increase skin elasticity, the skin's ability to bounce back and stay firm after it's squeezed together by muscle contractions. Once the skin on your forehead loses elasticity, it becomes susceptible to wrinkling every time you make a facial expression. Drink eight glasses of water daily to stay adequately hydrated. Drinks containing caffeine and alcohol dehydrate your skin.

Take Antioxidants

Reservatrol is a naturally occurring antioxidant in red wine that can help combat environmental damage to your skin. The cells of your skin, along with cells throughout your body, may be deteriorated by free radicals that are absorbed by your body from a variety of sources. Smoke, pollution and radiation are environmental hazards to the skin on your face. Antioxidants such as reservatrol can reduce the detrimental effects of free radicals and maintain the health of skin cells on your forehead. You can get reservatrol from red wine as well as in supplement form.
