Weight loss pills can be dangerous, expensive and often do not help you lose weight. If you do lose weight with the pills, it will most likely just come right back after you stop taking them. If you read the label on a bottle of weight loss pills, it will tell you to adhere to a sensible diet and exercise plan. If you just follow these two suggestions--consume fewer calories and increase your activity level--you will lose weight in 30 days without pills.
Step 1
Eat a well-balanced diet. Consume a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, protein and even a small amount of fat in ratios defined by the United States Department of Agriculture's food pyramid guide. By eating these different foods in the correct ratios, your body will feel nourished so you won't overeat out of nutrient deprivation.
Step 2
Keep a food journal to discover how much you usually eat, and calculate your average caloric intake. Research how many calories are in the foods you eat, and subtract a few hundred calories from this amount. If you consume fewer calories over a 30-day period, you should lose weight without pills.
Step 3
Increase your cardio exercise level. Cardio, or aerobic exercise, helps burn calories so you can eat a little more and still have a calorie deficit. According to the University of California, Los Angeles, a calorie deficit means burning off more calories than you consume daily, and is the only way to lose weight. Examples of cardio exercise include brisk walking, running, dancing and cycling.
Step 4
Incorporate strength training, such as weight lifting, into your routine to build muscle mass. According to Net Wellness, strength training helps increase metabolism. This will allow your body to burn more calories even while you are resting. You should strength train an area of your body no more than every other day. Your muscles need a break between workouts to rebuild and become stronger.
