There are tons of tricks you can perform on a skateboard. In fact, professional skateboarders spend countless hours developing new tricks and routines designed to show off their skills. Among these is the nollie flip–it's a fundamental trick, but it's still found in professional skateboard routines. The term "nollie" refers to the backward approach to the kick flip, which is one of the easiest tricks you can learn. Even so, it can take a lot of practice before you're able to consistently land the nollie flip.
Step 1
Place your front foot on the front nose of the skateboard, past the front wheel trucks. Your back foot should be positioned just in front of the rear wheel truck bolts. Place the front foot on the nose–while only the balls of your feet and your toes should be situated on the skateboard.
Step 2
Press down with both feet and then jump up to spring the skateboard in the air. Your back foot should leave the ground slightly before the front foot, causing the back end to lift up. As it does, flick your foot by turning the bottom of it inside toward your other foot. This will cause a flicking motion on the side of your foot that will catch the skateboard deck and force it to spin.
Step 3
Lift both feet into the air as the skateboard spins a full rotation. Keep an eye on the skateboard deck and don't lower your feet until the grip tape side of your skateboard deck rotates around and faces the sky.
Step 4
Land by placing both feet on the truck bolts of the skateboard. This is the most secure way to step onto the skateboard and is unlikely to cause the board to slip out from underneath you.
