Hair is a physical feature that is treasured by many. At least, this is the case when it is on the top of the head. When it grows in other areas of the body such as the chest, back, legs, underarms, shoulders, lips and areas in between the eyebrows, it's not always so popular. It is at these times that men and women do whatever they can to eliminate it. Getting rid of it is one thing, but keeping it away is another.
Step 1
Let it grow back and use a pair of tweezers. If you continually shave, your hair will grow back on a regular basis. But if you let it grow and then pull the hairs out with tweezers, you can usually get a few days to a week without any hair. If you do this for several years, it may eventually lead to permanent removal.
Step 2
Get a depilatory cream. Depilatories are chemicals that you spread over the hair. The active chemicals go down inside the roots and lift the hairs out. You then wipe away the solution and hairs from your skin. These can generally last about two weeks.
Step 3
Have a wax treatment. In this procedure, hot wax is poured over areas of hair on your body. A strip of material is then smoothed across the hair, and it is ripped out by the roots. Waxing can keep unwanted hair away for about six weeks.
Step 4
Get electrolysis. First, your skin is cleaned with alcohol. A needle is then sent down into the follicles of your hair and a current of electricity is sent to the tip of the needle. The follicle gets shocked and the hair falls out. This process often takes multiple visits to totally get rid of the hair.
Step 5
Pay for laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is a procedure where an intense beam of pulsating light gets passed through your skin into the pigment that gives hair its color, which is known as melanin. When the beam hits hair follicles, they get destroyed on the spot and growth ceases. In similar fashion to electrolysis, it may take a few sessions to see permanent results.
