Instructions to Use a Carl Lewis Fitness AB Roller

A Carl Lewis Fitness Ab Roller is made from metal tubing covered with foam sleeves, with a padded headrest. It's basic design is similar to other ab rollers. The objective of the Carl Lewis Fitness Ab Roller is to tone and strengthen your abdominal muscles with minimal stress on your neck and back. Consult with your physician before you begin any exercise program.

Step 1

Assemble the Carl Lewis Ab Roller according to the manufacturer's instructions. Find a comfortable space in your home to use your ab roller that has a level surface.

Step 2

Lie on your back and place your head on the headrest. Your knees should be bent with your feet on the floor. Hold onto the hand grips and roll up far enough to lift your shoulders up off the floor. Hold that position for up to three seconds, then return to the beginning. try to do four sets of 20 repetitions.

Step 3

Place your head on the headrest and hands on the handles of the Carl Lewis Ab Roller. Turn over on your side, but leave your knees together. Your lower body should be pointing sideways, and your upper body straight. Roll up on the ab roller to work your oblique muscles. They are located on the sides of your midsection. Hold at the top for three seconds, then release and do four sets of 20 reps. Don't forget to do both sides.

Step 4

Lie back on the Carl Lewis Ab Roller with your head on the pad and hands holding the grips. Raise your buttocks and hips off the floor slightly, while at the same time rolling your upper body forward. Hold that position for three seconds, then go back to the start. Repeat for four sets of 20 repetitions.
