White Lotus Aromatics is a company located in Port Angeles, Washington, that provides a number of essential oil products. Christopher McMahon, one of the owners of White Lotus, started traveling regularly to India in 1996 and works with farmers, distillers, extractors and scientists in the search for high-quality oils. Today he continues to travel to India but has added Madagascar, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, South Africa, Hungary, France, Bosnia and Italy to his itinerary, continually learning about essential oils while growing and improving upon White Lotus' product inventory.
The Products
White Lotus Aromatics is committed to selecting only the highest quality products and carries a selection of wild harvested and organic essential oils. Essential oils are fragrant, highly concentrated oils that manufacturers extract from leaves, flowers, bark, stems or roots of plants through steam or water distillation.
This company also sells CO2 extracts, absolutes and other plant oil extracts. A CO2 extract is generally thicker than an essential oil and manufacturers extract the plant oils through carbon dioxide pressurization. The final CO2 product has no traces of harmful solvents left behind and may be of higher quality than essential oils since they are not exposed to heat, which can damage the oil constituents.
An absolute is more concentrated than an essential oil and manufacturers extract the oils through a complex method that involves chemical solvents. Once extraction is complete, they remove the chemical solvents from the final product. Absolutes are very strong, and you should only use them if you have prior training or experience with essential oils.
The Owners
Christopher and Suzanne McMahon own and operate White Lotus Aromatics. They handle all business operations--from sourcing their products to fulfilling orders, invoicing, packaging and shipping. Christopher manages product sourcing and travels extensively throughout India and other parts of the world, interacting with distillers and extractors so he can bring only the highest quality oils back to the United States. He reports on his travels regularly through an email newsletter called the "Fragrant Harvest Newsletter." Suzanne manages the business side of things, handling the organization and accounting aspects of the business as well as brainstorming new ideas.
Ordering
White Lotus provides their products at wholesale to businesses. Businesses in Washington are required to provide a reseller permit prior to making product orders. There is a 100-dollar minimum on all orders and you can place your order by sending an email that provides your order code, quantity and shipping address.
