Sticking to a weight loss program can be challenging. If you feel your motivation dwindling, finding something to keep you engaged is key. The "Ladies' Home Journal" website recommends seeking inspiration in others, whether that means people who look the way you want to look or those with a positive message to share.

Step 1

Take a picture of yourself wearing a bikini. Write your current weight on the photo using a permanent marker. Post the picture where you can see it all the time. Putting it on the refrigerator's door might be a good deterrent to prevent you from opening the door and grabbing a snack.

Step 2

Take a new picture of yourself wearing the same bikini every month. If you are following a healthy eating and exercise plan, you should see changes, even if they are minimal. Seeing your body change month after month can be highly motivating.

Step 3

Use "before" and "after" pictures and success stories as inspiration. Both "Fitness Magazine" and "Good Housekeeping Magazine" publish success stories every month. Seeing the pictures of others who have succeeded at losing weight can help you get motivated and lose weight.

Step 4

Upload a picture of yourself to a weight loss simulation and makeover tool, such as Weight Mirror. These free online programs allow you to upload a photo and then choose a different weight to your current one. The site then modifies the picture you uploaded and gives you a good idea of how you would look at that weight.

Step 5

Find pictures of famous actors or models that look the way you would like to look. Cut them out of magazines. Post them on your computer monitor, bathroom mirror or fridge. Use the images as inspiration when you feel like eating high-calorie foods or not exercising.

Step 6

Keep a picture of an outfit you'd love to fit in. According to Canadian Living, knowing you'll be able to buy and fit into that outfit after you lose weight can be great motivation.
