With many cellulite treatments costing thousands of dollars, at-home cellulite treatments can be a cheaper alternative for similar results. Many at-home cellulite treatments use goods that are already in your home. They also require less of a time commitment than other cellulite treatments, which could require multiple visits to a doctor's office.

Diet and Exercise

Diet and exercise are effective ways of reducing the appearance of cellulite and the closest thing there is to a permanent solution. Because cellulite is fat that has broken through the connective tissues that keeps it distributed throughout the body, a strenuous workout and healthful diet can significantly reduce its appearance. Eat a diet high in fiber and good fats. Add resistance training to your workout because it builds muscles, giving the skin a smoother, more toned appearance.

Massage it Away

Massage is an at-home cellulite remedy that can be done with your hands or with the help of an at-home massage machines. A firm massage improves circulation and redistributes the fat back under the connective tissues. You can use your fist to knead and massage the areas of your body covered in cellulite after a shower or purchase a cellulite massager that works as an at-home version of the more expensive Endermologie treatment that can only be performed in plastic surgeons' or dermatologists' office.

Coffee -- Not Just for Drinking

Mix coffee with a little olive oil and you will have your own homemade cellulite cream. Coffee is used as a topical cellulite remedy because it's a stimulant. Caffeine increases the circulation and extracts water from the body, which improves the appearance of cellulite. Also, caffeine's stimulant properties can firm and smooth the skin in a similar manner as exercise, reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Brush it Away

Skin brushing is another cellulite home remedy thought to improve the body's circulation. Skin brushing improves the flow of the blood and the lymphatic system. The brushing motion helps reposition the fat back under the connective tissues decreasing the appearance of cellulite. Skin brushing requires a long body brush with natural bristles. Brush the skin nightly for two to five minutes for best results.

Temporary Fix

Similar to more expensive treatments, at-home cellulite treatments only offer a temporary reduction in your cellulite. You will have to keep them up and combine more than one treatment to get the best results. Diet and exercise offer the best chance at a semi-permanent fix to your cellulite, but only if you maintain your weight loss and dietary habits.
