Downhill bike games are designed to help improve your downhill racing times as well as your ability to perform tricks while racing. Downhill bike racing is very similar to downhill skiing. A group of racers start at the top of a steep hill and are staggered based on overall speed and ability. Racers are timed during their descent and also scored based on jump height and in-air tricks they perform while riding downhill.
Downhill Bike Big Air Game
The downhill bike "big air" game will help you focus on your in-air biking tricks as well as your ability to perform a smooth landing. While a basic downhill bike game is a race that rewards the fastest racer, the big air game focuses on racers' in-air tricks off of dirt packed jumps. With three judges observing, race down a standard downhill course and perform tricks on all of the jumps that are presented to you. If you miss a jump or fall during a landing, you will get zero points for that jump. Judges rate each jump based on air, fluidity and difficulty and then add all of the scores together to get an average score. The player with the highest score wins.
Downhill Speed Racing Game
The downhill speed racing game will help you improve your downhill speed by eliminating all of the jumps on the course. Stand at the top of a designated downhill racing course and wait for a signal. You can do this race individually or with a group. As you race down the hill, ignore all of the jumps and hills that normal downhill races require you to jump over. This will allow you to focus on running the course in a quick and efficient manner. Any racer who takes a jump will be docked a few seconds from their final time. The player with the fastest time is the winner.
Downhill Basic Game
The basic racing game will improve your downhill racing fundamentals. Ride down the mountain at an average speed while making sure that you are using proper form. According to Bike Radar, you should be able to place an imaginary vertical line from the core of your back to the rear end of the bike while riding. This form helps keep you balanced and stable during a ride. Every 10 feet, slam on your brakes and come to a complete stop. For every proper stop you will gain a point. Perform these stops the entire way down the mountain. If you start to excel at this, decrease the amount of stops to one every 20 feet.
