Neutrogena produces several serum products designed to protect skin from wrinkles and the signs of aging. Most of these products, including its Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Intensive Serum, include a vitamin-A compound called Retinol. The Mayo Clinic describes Retinol as the first antioxidant used for over-the-counter wrinkle creams. Antioxidants work to counteract free radicals, which are the unstable oxygen molecules that break down skin cells. By applying Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Intensive serum to your face daily, you may protect it from further damage and help shape skin cells to reduce visible wrinkles.
Step 1
Wash face with a mild cleanser. Remove any creams or makeup on the skin and rinse thoroughly.
Step 2
Turn the pump handle to the "open" position by moving it clockwise until it stops. Place one or two drops of the serum on fingertips. Smooth the serum over the surface of your face. Avoid getting the solution in eyes, mouth and nostrils when applying.
Step 3
Return the pump handle to "closed" by moving it counterclockwise.
Tips and Warnings
- Use the serum before putting on makeup or a heavier moisturizer.
- Do not use products containing Retinol if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Retinol has been linked to a number of birth defects.
