Shaping brow hair is necessary for women intent on looking good. Well-shaped eyebrows help you appear neater and increase the beauty of your face. When shaping the eyebrows, it is important to do it correctly because hair takes a while to grow back. Do this in small steps by looking in the mirror.

Hair removal from the brow requires some amount of time and patience. It may take some tries before you get the shape that suits your face.

Step 1

Mark a point where your eyebrows should begin and end using the felt pen. Use a ruler to determine excess hair by holding it on the inner and outer corner of your eye. Remove the excess hair using tweezers.

Step 2

Tweeze excess hair by applying pressure. Avoid pain or discomfort by using talcum powder. When tweezing with your right hand, use the thumb and index finger of your left hand to stretch the skin, keeping it taut.

Step 3

Use an eyebrow stencil to mark hair that you want to keep. Remove excess hair using an eyebrow razor or tweezers.

Step 4

Mark the eyebrow shape using a stencil and wax off the remaining hair. Waxing may be more painful than tweezing, but reduces hair growth when done repeatedly.

Step 5

Shape your eyebrows using a technique called eyebrow threading. Take a 30-cm-long thread, tie the end and twist it twice.

Step 6

Place your thumb and index fingers in each end. Move the index finger up and down such that the twisted strand moves too. Mark with a stencil so you know which areas to pluck.

Tips and Warnings

  • Use calamine or aloe if redness or swelling occurs. After threading or waxing, dab ice on the area if your skin is acne prone. Practice threading on upper lip and leg hair since it takes some practice to get it right. An eyebrow razor must be sharp enough to remove hair but not sharp enough to cut your skin. Buy one with serrated edges.
  • Eyebrow razors may lead to ingrown hair.
