Sagging skin around the jaw and cheek line form deep wrinkles on the left and right side of the mouth called jowls. As aging occurs, elasticity and fatty tissue around the skin is lost, resulting in the deep set lines. Jowls may slowly appear during the mid thirties, and come increasingly pronounced over the next two decades. Facial exercises increases blood circulation, tones muscles and stimulates the skin giving it a healthy glow. Exercises can be performed on a daily basis. Use clean hands and apply moisturizer to the face prior to performing exercises.
Cheek Enhancer
Use hands and pull back the cheeks. Hold the position for 10 seconds. Repeat the exercise three times. Muscles in the cheeks and jaw line will be strengthened.
Jaw Line Lifter
Turn your head to the right to stretch the neck. Pull out and extend the jaw. Hold the position for 10 seconds and then repeat on the left side. Do three sets of stretches on both left and right sides. The exercise will prevent a double chin as well as jowls from appearing.
Jaw Extender
Look upwards, tilting the head back. Raise the jaw up and extend. Hold for 10 seconds and relax. Repeat three times. The exercise can be performed standing or lying down. The bottom jaw line as well as neck muscles are strengthened.
Mouth Toner
Purse the lips together. Hold for 10 seconds and relax. Repeat three times. Muscles near the mouth and bottom of the cheeks will lift and tone.
