Hair loss and scalp exercises can be done in the comfort of your home. No expensive equipment is required. Doing the exercises on a daily basis will help you reach your goal of a healthy, full head of hair. Be patient, though. No miracle cures exist for hair loss, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Check with your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions.

Scalp Relaxation

Relax your scalp by doing laxity exercises, according to Bernstein Medical. Open your hands and place them on each side of your head. Your middle fingers will be touching each other. Point your thumbs toward each other. Vigorously start moving your scalp up and down with your thumbs and palms. Do this for five minutes. Relax for 10 seconds. Repeat this exercise five times. Do not move your fingers during this exercise.

Another laxity exercise involves placing your palms onto the back of your head. Touch your index fingers together. Overlap your thumbs. Vigorously move your scalp for five minutes. Relax for 10 seconds. Repeat this exercise throughout the day.

Head Inversion

Head inversion can counteract hair loss. Turning your head upside down can help increase blood circulation to your scalp, according to holisticonline.com. The more blood circulation your scalp receives, the more nutrients and blood can flow through your hair follicles. This encourages hair growth and fights hair loss. Do a toe touching exercise. Stand with your feet together. Slowly lower your upper body toward the floor. Rest your palms on your feet or floor. Let your head hang. Stay in this position for 10 seconds. Slowly return to the upright position. Relax for 30 seconds. Repeat this exercise three times. Do not attempt head inversion exercises if you have high blood pressure or other heart issues.

Gentle Tugging

Massage your hair follicles by doing a gentle hair tugging exercise, according to holisticonline.com. While increasing blood circulation to your scalp, this exercise counteracts hair loss by encouraging hair growth and improved hair health. Bend your upper body forward. Or, sit upright in a firm chair and slowly bend your head forward. Gently grab a hold of a section of your hair, close to the scalp. Use a tugging motion to pull on your hair. Relax your grip. Pull again. Repeat this exercise three times. Cover your entire scalp, including the sides and back to stimulate new hair growth. Do not pull so hard that you cause your hair to fall out.

Yoga

Yoga can help with your hair loss concerns, according to holisticonline.com. Inverted yoga postures can increase blood circulation to your scalp. Yoga can also reduce your tension and stress levels, which can help to improve your hair health. Stress is a leading cause of hair loss, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Some yoga postures that can help your scalp health include Shoulderstand Headstand, Downward-Facing Dog and Cobra Pose.
