Stretch marks are a fairly common skin problem, most commonly caused by weight gain or pregnancy. Though stretch marks are common, they can be embarrassing and unsightly. Luckily, there are some natural home remedies that use aloe vera to help you banish stretch marks from your skin. These treatments have not been approved by the FDA though, so talk with your doctor before starting any new self-treatment.

Aloe Vera, Almond Oil and Olive Oil

According to Julie Gabriel, author of The Green Beauty Guide: Your Essential Resource to Organic and Natural Skin Care, Hair Care, Makeup, and Fragrances, a mixture of aloe vera gel, almond oil and olive oil can be applied to the skin to help get rid of stretch marks. To make this mixture, combine 1 tbsp. aloe vera gel, ½ tbsp. almond oil and ½ tbsp. olive oil in a small bowl and stir to combine the ingredients. Gently massage a thick layer of the mixture onto the skin of the affected area and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing with cool, clean water and washing with a mild cleanser. This treatment can be repeated in the morning and evening as long as it does not bother your skin, and unused portions can be kept in a cool, dark place for one month.

Aloe Vera, Avocado Oil and Roman Chamomile Essential Oil

According to Ann Worwood, author of The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy, a mixture of aloe vera, avocado oil and Roman chamomile essential oil can be used as a topical treatment for stretch marks. To make and use this mixture, combine ½ tbsp. aloe vera gel, 1 tbsp. avocado oil and ¼ tsp. chamomile essential oil in a small bottle or jar and shake to combine. Pour a small amount of the mixture onto clean fingertips and gently massage it onto the skin for 2 to 3 minutes. Leave the mixture on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water and washing with a mild soap. This treatment can be used once per day as long as it does not bother your skin. Unused portions can be kept for one month in a cool, dark and dry place.

Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil and Mandarin Essential Oil

According to Colleen Kaye Dodt, author of The Essential Oils Book: Creating Personal Blends for Mind & Body, a mixture of aloe vera, jojoba oil and mandarin essential oil can be combined and used as a natural treatment for stretch marks. To make and use this mixture, combine 1 tbsp. aloe vera, 1 tbsp. jojoba oil and ¼ tsp. mandarin essential oil in a small container and stir to combine. Gently massage a thick layer onto clean skin of the stretch marked area and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing the area with cool, clean water and washing with a mild soap. This treatment can be repeated twice per day unless it causes irritation, and unused portions of the mixture can be stored in a cool, dark place for up to 24 hours.
