As you get older, your facial muscles may begin to slacken and your skin may droop, forming winkles, pouches and bags under your eyes. Facial exercises, which may improve muscle tone and circulation, are noninvasive alternatives to surgical face lifts. Eye lift exercises target the muscles around your eyes to reduce fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful appearance.

Eyebrow Lift

This exercise provides a lift to the entire area around the eyes. Perform three sets of ten repetitions, three times a week. Take the three middle fingers on each hand and place them on your eyebrows. Push your eyebrows up and try to use the muscles in your eyebrows to pull down. Hold the contraction for ten seconds, then let go and relax.

Lower Eyelid

The lower eyelid lift exercise works your lower eye lid to tighten and firm the muscles underneath your eye. Keep your eyes open and place the three middle fingers of each hand on top of your cheekbones. Tilt your head all the way back so you are looking at the ceiling.

Keep your fingers on your cheekbones, squint your lower eye lids and hold the squint for ten seconds. Repeat three sets, three times a week.

Sides of Eyes

Fine lines and wrinkles at the sides of your eyes may make you appear older than you are. This exercise helps tighten the muscles next to your eyes in order to avoid skin sag.

Place your index and middle finger of each hand on either side of your eyes and close to your temples. Pull outward slightly and quickly open and close your eyes five times. You should feel your muscles contracting under your fingers and in the muscles around the sides of your eyes.

Eyebrows

This eyebrow exercise tightens and tones the muscles in your eyebrows in order to give a more youthful appearance. Sit up straight with your body relaxed, but your eyes open. Lift your eyebrows high while simultaneously allowing the top of your eyelids to droop halfway closed. You will feel the muscle between your eyelid and eyebrow stretch and contract. Open your eyelid wide until the whites of your eyes show. Repeat five times, three times a week.

Eyelids

The eyelid exercise helps strengthen and tone the tiny muscles located in your eyelids in order to avoid drooping and sagging skin that would make you look older.

Relax, but sit up straight and keep your eyes open. Look straight ahead of you and keep your head still. Look up as far as you can, then down as far as you can.

Look right as far as you can, then left as far as you can. Relax and return to looking straight ahead. Repeat five times, three times a week.
