Whether as a relaxation technique or as part of foreplay, a sensual massage is a great way to increase intimacy in a relationship. You don't need to be an expert masseur to give your woman a pleasurable, sensual massage. Relax, take your time and remember the main goal is for her to enjoy herself. The more she enjoys it, the more you will enjoy it.

Set the scene. Choose a comfortable, private room where you definitely won't be disturbed. Light scented candles in your partner's favorite fragrance to create a warm, seductive atmosphere. Have a supply of clean sheets and towels on hand. Arrange pillows on the floor or bed to keep her comfortable.

Pour a little massage oil onto your palms and rub them together to warm the oil. Using oil during the massage will reduce friction and soften her skin.

Ask your partner to lie face down and make herself comfortable. Use gentle stroking motions to spread the oil across your partner's back, starting at the base and working upward toward her neck before moving down the sides of her body. Pinch her shoulders and neck gently with your thumbs and forefingers. Stroke the lengths of her arms and legs with long, deep, sweeping motions.

Move your hands to erogenous parts of your woman's body. Let your fingers graze the side of her breasts as you run your hands down the sides of her body. Trace a large heart shape with your fingertips around her hips and buttocks. Run your fingertips down the backs of her thighs.

Create gentle circular patterns with your fingertips down the backs of your woman's legs. Do the same on her inner legs, working up from her knees and stopping just before you reach her genitals. Repeat this a few times to build excitement.

Whisper into your partner's ear that you want her to turn over onto her back. Let her find a comfortable position, then gently place her feet onto your lap. Massage her feet to relax her even further and increase her arousal, advises Carol Queen, Ph.D., for "Cosmopolitan." Stroke the tops and soles of her feet. Take each toe and roll it between your thumb and forefinger while sliding your fingers to the bottom of the toe, working from the big toe to the little toe. Slide your index finger between each toe in a smooth, gentle movement. Stroke her soles and insteps. Ask her if she would like you to carry on massaging the front of her body.
