Facial Exercises for Wrinkles

Facial exercises are done to improve and strengthen muscle tone in the face, promoting a youthful appearance. They not only firm the muscle, but also tone the skin by increasing circulation in the skin. These exercises should be done on a regular basis to maintain a firm, toned look and can be done by people of all ages.

Eye Exercises

Eye exercises help to reduce puffy eyes and smooth wrinkles in the forehead. The website Ageless suggests placing two fingers at the temples of your head while opening and closing your eyes rapidly to strengthen the muscles of your eyes. A second eye exercise that is good for toning is to keep your eyes closed while moving your eyes up and down. A third exercise involves keeping your eyes closed and relaxed while you raise and lower your eyebrows. These exercises should be done in 10 repetitions on a daily basis.

Mouth Exercises

Firming the lips and mouth are another set of facial exercises to explore. According to Wrinkle-Free-Skin-Tips, puckering your lips can help to firm the lips and decrease wrinkles. Tilt your head back while looking at the ceiling, then pucker like you are kissing. Push your lips toward the ceiling. Hold this position for five to 10 seconds, then relax. This exercise should be repeated about 10 times daily.

Cheek Exercises

Cheek exercises are done to firm and tone the cheeks and smooth wrinkles. According to Dermaxime, there are several exercises to tone the cheeks. One of these exercises is done by relaxing and closing your lips, then puckering as if you are kissing. Hold this position for about 10 seconds and then relax. Another exercise that will tone the cheeks is to relax your face and smile with your lips closed. Suck in your cheeks toward your teeth and hold for 10 counts, relax and repeat 10 times. These exercises should be done on a daily basis.
