Our faces are composed of thousands of nerve endings and blood vessels, more than 10 bones and a dozen muscles, so it should come as no surprise that this complex machine needs exercising. According to a study reported by the American Society of Plastic Surgery and published by the Cosmetic Surgery Review in June 2010, the number of teens seeking plastic surgery has doubled. But with exercise, many teens can keep their faces looking vibrant.

Exercise for the Eyes

This easy exercise is performed by partially winking each eye. The website ShapeYourFace suggests performing 50 partial winks with each eye. After performing the winking exercise, press your fingers into your temples and pull the skin surrounding your eyes toward the rear of your head. While your skin is pulled tight, close your eyes tightly. This helps alleviate any sags and bagginess under your eyes, according to the website.

Chin Exercises

Lift your lower lip to tighten and wrinkle the skin on your chin. While your lower lip is lifted, hold this contraction for a second and then firmly press your chin down toward your neck, being careful to keep your head immobile. Hold this exercise for a second and perform about a dozen repetitions of this exercise. If this exercise is performed correctly you should feel a strain in the muscles in the front of your neck.

Cheek Exercises

A pair of exercises is designed to help you lose fat from your face, according to HealthGuidance.org. The first exercise involves closing your mouth and sucking in both cheeks until they are hollow. Hold this position for about 10 seconds and relax. The website recommends performing five repetitions of this exercise. Follow this by closing your mouth and puffing the left and right cheek out individually. Five repetitions should be performed with each cheek, according to the website.
