Whether you have excessive facial hair or a few stray hairs you may be eager to remove it. Waxing offers a quick and easy solution for getting rid of unwanted facial hair. Although many brands of facial wax are available in stores, by making facial wax at home you will save yourself time and money. You can make facial wax from ingredients commonly found in your kitchen.
Step 1
Add the sugar, lemon juice and water in a small pan and mix together with a wooden spoon.
Step 2
Heat the ingredients over medium heat until you see small bubbles developing and all the sugar has dissolved. Stir the mixture at regular intervals to avoid it sticking to the sides of the pan.
Step 3
Use the candy thermometer to check the temperature of the mixture. When it reaches 250 degrees Fahrenheit turn off the heat. The mixture will have a golden-brown appearance.
Step 4
Remove the pan from the stove and allow it to cool for about 20 minutes.
Step 5
Pour the facial wax in a microwavable container. Simply reheat the wax in a microwave when you want to wax your facial hair.
Tips and Warnings
- Place a label on the jar and mark it with the date you made the wax. You can store the wax in the refrigerator for about a month.
- When reheating the wax don't overheat it. You may burn your skin.
