How to Get Great Skin Fast

Your skin may not always look its best, but when you have a special event to go to, you want your skin to look as good as possible. You will not be able to erase skin damage that took years to develop, but you may be able to significantly improve the appearance of your skin faster than you ever thought you could.

Step 1

Sip on water throughout the day. Consume eight full glasses of water in total. Add lemon to your water for a dose of vitamin C. Vitamin C helps firm the skin. Water hydrates skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles by filling them out. According to Joel Gerson, author of "Milady's Standard Textbook for Professional Estheticians," your body is composed of about 50 to 66 percent water, and water is necessary for clear skin.

Step 2

Apply a mask to your skin, but choose one beneficial to your skin type. If you have visible pores, apply a clay mask to them to pull impurities out of your skin. If your skin is dry, apply a moisturizing mask to revitalize your skin. Wipe your skin with a cotton pad saturated with astringent after washing off the clay mask to tighten your pores and make them less visible.

Step 3

Hide blemishes and spots you want to conceal by covering them with concealing makeup. If blemishes are dark, apply a foundation to your skin that matches your skin color, and then pat the concealer makeup onto each blemish or spot with the tip of your index finger. When you are done, lightly brush on mineral makeup, and lightly blot your face with a moistened sponge so your skin will not give a dry appearance. If your blemishes or spots are light, skip the foundation. In this case, just apply the concealer makeup to the blemishes and spots, and then apply the mineral makeup.
