Toss Up is a suspenseful dice game that requires luck and risk-taking to win. The game consists of 10 dice with green, yellow and red sides. To win, you must have the highest score over 100 when the game is over. The makers of Toss Up designed the game for two to six players who are 8 years old and up. The game directions for Toss Up are very easy to understand.
Step 1
Write each player's name along the top of a piece of paper. This is your score sheet.
Step 2
Decide who will go first. After the first player takes his turn, play continues clockwise.
Step 3
Roll all 10 dice on your turn. When you look at the dice, think of green for go, red for stop and yellow for caution. If you rolled any greens, slide them over to the side. Each green is worth 1 point at the end of your turn.
Step 4
Decide if you want to continue your turn or stop. If you want to continue, you will roll all the remaining dice that did not turn up green on your previous roll. If you roll more greens, set them aside with the others. As long as you roll at least one green die, you may continue rolling as many times as you want. If you roll enough times so all 10 dice are green, you can start all over rolling the 10 dice and adding additional points to what you already scored. The number of points you can earn on a turn is unlimited.
Keep in mind that if you do not turn up any greens on a roll and you have at least one red, you have run a "red light" and your turn is over. When you run a red light, you lose all the points you earned so far in that turn and you score 0 points. If you roll one or more yellows with no greens, you have just passed a "caution light" and nothing happens. After a caution light, you can decide if you want to continue rolling or not, and you keep all of your accrued points for the turn.
Step 5
Record each player's score at the end of her turn, and keep a running total throughout the game.
Step 6
Win the game by having the most points over 100 when the game ends. If you have over 100 points when your turn is over, all of the other players get to take one more turn to try to get more points than you. After everyone's last turn is over, the player with the highest score over 100 wins the game.
