Women may have stray hairs that pop up on their chin and that can be embarrassing. If you want to remove unwanted facial hair, there are more options than ever before. Some hair removal methods are temporary, while others will get rid of chin hair forever. Experiment a bit with different hair removal options to find which one works best for your lifestyle and skin type. Finances might also be something to consider, as the permanent hair removal methods can be expensive.

Step 1

Use tweezers to remove stray hairs from the chin. Tweezing works best when there are only a few hairs to remove. The advantages to tweezing are that it can be done any time and is inexpensive and relatively painless.

Step 2

Wax your chin if you have many hairs or if you just want longer lasting results than from tweezing. Waxing can be done at salons or at home with the use of a hot wax kit, reports Free Beauty Tips.

Step 3

Apply depilatory cream to your chin as another at home hair removal method. These creams can be purchased at many supermarkets, department stores and beauty supply stores. When using depilatory creams, always test the cream first on a small, out of the way area to make sure you won't have a bad reaction to the cream, such as skin redness or irritation.

Step 4

Consult your doctor to find out whether permanent chin hair removal is a viable option. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, electrolysis is a common method of permanent hair removal. This is accomplished by having a professional insert a thin metal rod into each chin hair follicle, a slight electric shock then destroys the hair follicle so no more hair grows back. This might need to be done several times. Laser hair removal is another choice for permanently getting rid of unwanted chin hair. This can be an expensive option, however.

Tips and Warnings

  • If you feel you may have excessive facial hair, consult your doctor. There could be a hormonal imbalance to blame.
  • Women should never shave hair on their chin or anywhere else on their face, as this causes stubble as the hair grows back in.

Things You'll Need
