Home Remedies for a Clearer Complexion

Acne and skin blemishes can ruin the look of a clear complexion. Skin problems can be treated by visiting a high-priced salon or dermatologist. But sometimes reducing blemishes and having a clear complexion can be achieved simply by adding home remedies into your skincare routine. Products are commonly found in the kitchen or can be purchased at the local grocery store.

Potato Mask

Potato has natural bleaching agents that will clear blemishes or acne marks. Peel and grate 1 potato. Mix it into a chunky paste in the blender. Add a few drops of lemon juice and 1 tsp. of honey to the mix. Apply to your face, and let it sit for 15 minutes. Wash your face over the kitchen sink to prevent the drain from clogging---if possible, use a sink with a garbage disposal.

Tomato & Lemon Juice

A solution of tomato juice and lemon juice will lighten blemish marks and will also lighten facial hair. Mix 1/2 cup of lemon juice and 1/2 cup of tomato juice. Apply it to your face daily, using a small cotton ball. Keep refrigerated when not in use.

Almond Mask

Soak 1/2 cup of almonds in water overnight. Remove the peels from the almonds after soaking. Add the almonds to a blender, along with 2 tsp. of honey and 1 tsp. of lemon juice. Blend to a paste. Apply to your face, and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Aloe Vera Toner

Aloe vera can cleanse and tighten pores. Break a leaf off an aloe vera plant. Cut open the stalk of the plant, and remove the juice and gel found in the stalk. Mix to a chunky paste in a bowl. Apply to your face.

Mint Paste

Mint will energize and awaken the senses, as well as clean pores. Crush mint leaves in a bowl. Add water to moisten as necessary. Include 1 tsp. of honey. Apply to your face, and let it sit for 10 minutes.
