For many people, the shape and contour of their eyebrows is the last thing they think about when grooming. The shape of your eyebrows plays a big role in your overall look and contributes to your general facial expression, according to the Health Guidance website.
Some eyebrows are thick, some are thin, some are arched, some are straight, and some are penciled in. Both women and men can benefit from shaping their eyebrows to match their face, and it is easy to do if you follow a few basic instructions.
Step 1
Select a pair of tweezers that are somewhere in the middle price range, so you are assured of quality, but don't spend too much. Wax may be used, but tweezers give you more control and precision.
Step 2
Comb your eyebrows in an upward direction, and trim any hairs that stick up past the regular brow line with cuticle scissors. Also, remove hairs that are growing in places surrounding the eyebrow.
Step 3
Place a ruler or pencil at the tip of your nose, and point it up to your eyebrow, so it passes over top of your pupil. The point where the pencil and your eyebrow intersect is where your eyebrow should arch, advises Health Guidance. Mark the spot above and below the brow with an eyeliner pencil if it will make it easier for you to remember where it is.
Step 4
Place a hot cloth over your eyebrow to soften the hairs and open your pores. Pluck from the bottom, and try to follow the natural line of your brow when you are forming the arch.
Step 5
Apply some eyebrow gel after you are finished forming your brows to make them look neater.
Tips and Warnings
- Go slow when you start plucking hairs. It is easy to go too fast and end up with gaps and bald spots in your eyebrow.
