Traditionally, home air purifiers were recommended only for individuals who suffer from allergies, asthma or other respiratory conditions. Increased awareness of the potential health implications of breathing polluted air, however, has prompted many individuals to install home air purification systems. Blueair and Rabbit Air are two of the top producers of home air purification systems.
Blueair Design
Blueair air purifiers are stylish and low-profile in design. The outside casing is constructed of steel to reduce noise. Blueair offers several home purifier models ranging in size and room capacity. The 200 series models are the smallest, designed to purify a room size of 175 square foot space. The 600 series models are the largest models which can cleanse a maximum space of 698 square feet. Prices range from $250 to $1,000 for a Blueair home purifier, depending upon the unit's size and electronic features.
Blueair Technology
Blueair air purifiers rely upon a unique combination of HEPA filters and electrostatic technology so that any particles brought into the system from the air are ionized to adhere to the Blueair filter system. The freshly cleaned air is then redistributed back into the room. According to Air Purifiers, Blueair purifier technology allows the system to "breathe easier" and are quieter than traditional HEPA technology. Blueair air purifiers are Energy Star qualified and 99.97 percent effective in filtration.
Rabbit Air Design
Rabbit Air purifiers are thin and modern in appearance. The Minus A2 models can be mounted to the wall or placed on a floor stand. The BioGS models were designed to improve the general air quality of your home or room while the Minus A2 models provide more specific coverage by allowing you to customize its type of filter. Prices range from around $300 for the smallest BioGS model, which can purify a 600 square foot space, to around $600 for the largest Minus A2 model, which can purify a space of 815 square feet.
Rabbit Air Technology
Rabbit Air purifiers use bioengineered HEPA filter technology to trap and destroy allergens that are in your household air. The brushless direct current motor used in Rabbit Air purifiers eliminates the problem of brushes becoming worn or broken, increasing the life span of your purifier as well as increasing its efficiency and reducing its sound. Intelligent purification technology automatically adjusts the speed of your purifier according to the amount of pollutants in the space. The Minus A2 models are Energy Star qualified.
Consumer Reviews
Both brands of purifiers use HEPA technology and offer a range of products that will purify various size rooms at a comparable price. Paul Newton's review of the Rabbit Air Minus A2 model backed up the company's claims of energy efficiency and low sound. Newton listed the initial cost of the purifier and its replacement filters as the product's negative attributes. Allergy Consumer Reviews attested to the claims that the Blueair 201 purifier is energy efficient and does not release ozone gases when ionizing particles. Both reviews found the products to be highly efficient in purifying air.
