La Crosse has been in business since 1985. The company produces a wide range of electronic products. The company is world wide, but has a customer service center based in the United States. One of the products that they sell is a wireless weather station.

Types

La Crosse offers two types of wireless weather stations. The WS-9023U-IT has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $32.95 as of 2010. The WS-2317U has a suggested price of $279.95.

Features

The WS-9023U-IT monitors the indoor and outdoor temperatures and the outdoor humidity. The unit also keeps the minimum and maximum temperature and humidity records and displays the time in either 12 or 24 hour format. The WS-2317U records up to 175 sets of data and uploads it to your computer. The unit measures both indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, barometric pressure and the dew point as well as wind direction, wind speed and rainfall data. The unit comes with weather alarm modes, atomic time and date, updates for daylight savings time, has a perpetual calendar and a transmission range of up to 330 feet.

Specifications

The WS-9023U-IT operates when the outdoor relative humidity is between 1 percent and 99 percent and the outdoor temperature is between -39.8 degrees F and 139.8 degrees F and has a transmission range of up to 330 feet. The unit can receive information from up to three sensors, needs two AA batteries for the unit and another two for the sensor and has a battery life of up to 24 months.

The WS-2317U operates when the humidity is between 10 percent and 99 percent, the outdoor temperature is between -21.8 degrees F to +157.8 degrees F and the indoor temperature is between 14.1°F to 139.8°F. The receiver needs three AA batteries or the AC adapter. The sensor uses two AA batteries.
