Soccer Goalie Camps in New Jersey

Camps that specialize in soccer goalkeeping for children to high school players can be found throughout New Jersey. Many of the programs have former or current professional players to guide the instruction. All aspects of goalkeeping are taught with games conducted to test skills. Fees vary and can include equipment rentals in some cases.

Soccer Centers

Soccer Centers in Somerset run half-day, full-day and week-long camps for ages 5 to 18 during August. The camps encourage professional training and attacking the ball as the key to improving soccer skills. Games are coupled with instruction to create a fun atmosphere for all attendees. Selected professional goalkeepers provide mental and demonstration training to heighten the experience. Special evening camps are available for high school-aged boys and girls.

New Jersey Select Pre-Season Goalkeepers Camp

New Jersey Select Pre-Season Goalkeepers Camps in Manasquan focus on goalkeeping techniques in July and August. Former New Jersey Lions goalkeeper Wayne Ramsey is head instructor and has crafted the lessons based on his experience. Both physical and psychological aspects of goalkeeping are covered. Camps are divided into two sessions, youth and high school. The New Jersey Select Goalkeepers Club is also provided during summer camps for added support.

Good Sports USA Summer Soccer Camps

Wall Township in Monmouth County hosts the Good Sports USA Summer Soccer Camps for teams and individual players between the ages of 8 to 14 years old. Day camps are the only option provided for players. Lunch and a shirt are included with the fee. Daily games are held to test skill and improvement. Proper techniques are an important emphasis for director Jim Keady, the former New Jersey Imperials goalkeeper who has over 15 years of experience with goalkeeper instruction.

Bob Reasso Soccer School

Campers are encouraged to be competitive and driven at the Bob Reasso Soccer School in Bradley Beach. Players from grades 4 to 12 are allowed to attend. Comprehensive drills and individual lessons are combined with matches to enforce this concept. The camp has secondary accidental and medical insurance for safety. Anyone attending the camp must have their own size 5 Adidas ball, which can be purchased through the camp or at a local sporting good store.

Premier Soccer Camps

Premier Soccer Camp is conducted at Rider University in Lawrenceville. Tim Edwards, goalkeeper for the San Diego Sockers of the PASL, is in charge of the goalkeeper program. Campers learn all major goalkeeping techniques through drills. Each session concludes with the goalkeeper competing in games with other players attending camps. Morning games are smaller, while afternoon and evening game run with full teams.
