The Ecco Shoe Co. produces finely crafted leather golf shoes. With an estimated price of more than $400 in 2010, according to Golf Magazine, the Ecco GTX is also one of the world's most expensive golf shoes. Protect your investment and keep your shoes looking their best with proper care and maintenance. Choose cleaning products approved by Ecco to get the most from your cleaning efforts.
Step 1
Brush away dried mud and grass from the soles of your shoes with a stiff nylon brush. Clean both the bottom of the shoes and the sides, which may collect mud on rainy days.
Step 2
Wipe the shoes clean using a damp rag to remove all dirt and debris. Rinse your rag frequently to avoid smearing dirt or mud, and wring the rag thoroughly before making contact with the shoes. Allow your shoes to air dry naturally when you're done, keeping them away from sunlight and heat.
Step 3
Use an appropriate Ecco cleaner to remove tough stains. Choose Ecco nubuck cleaner or suede cleaner depending on the material used to make your shoes. Apply the cleaner with a damp rag to remove dirt, then wipe away cleaner with another rag or towel before allowing the shoes to air dry.
Step 4
Apply Ecco Daily Care Cream to the entire exterior of the each shoe, including the leather soles. Rub the cream into the leather by hand, then wipe away excess cream with a rag or towel. Allow the shoes to dry before wearing them outside.
Step 5
Spray your shoes with Ecco Universal Waterproofing Spray before you head out onto the golf course. Reapply before each golf session to avoid water damage.
