Beef
Beef is a type of meat that comes from cattle and is high in protein. It also has iron, B-vitamins and the minerals selenium, zinc and copper. Specific examples of beef include hamburger patties, steak, ground beef and sirloin tips.
Pork

Dairy Products

Poultry
Chicken and turkey are two types of poultry that are high in protein. Poultry is prepared in a number of ways, such as roasts, lunch meat, chicken wings, turkey legs and chicken patties.
Beans
Beans are legumes that are characterized by seeds that are surrounded by pods. They are high in B-vitamins, fiber and protein. Examples of these include garbanzo beans, lentils, white beans, navy beans and soy beans. Soy beans are what creates tofu and tempeh which are also high in protein.
Grains
Grains are considered complex carbohydrates that are high in fiber. But some versions are also high in protein. Examples of these include buckwheat groats, cornmeal, bulgur, oat bran and quinoa.
