Stretch marks are white marks on the skin commonly around the breasts, thighs and abdomen found on some women after pregnancy. Not all women will have stretch marks, and the extent of the marks also varies. Both men and women may also suffer from stretch marks during teenager years as they go through growth spurts, and stretch marks are seen on some individuals after loosing weight. Creams can be bought over the counter; however, a variety of home remedies are also available. Apply creams on skin where stretch marks may happen to prevent the lines from forming.
Step 1
Mix together half a cup of cocoa butter, 1 tbsp. wheat germ oil, 1 tsp. apricot kernel oil, 1 tsp. vitamin E oil, 2 tsp. grated beeswax.
Step 2
Place ingredients in a large pot. Heat on low and stir occasionally. Continue to heat until the beeswax has melted. Allow to cool.
Step 3
Store mixture in an airtight jar or container. Label the container and lid with ingredients and date cream was made. Place in refrigerator when not in use. Apply to skin areas one to two times a day, or as needed.
Tips and Warnings
- Apply lotion prior to stretch marks appearing; stretch marks are easier to prevent than to remove.
