Active singles have several options to stay on the move when flying solo, and some of these activities are enjoyed for little to no cost.
Parks and Recreation
It will take an entire day to explore Griffith Park, a 4,210-acre park with urban wilderness. Many recreational opportunities abound here. Hike, bike or ride a horse throughout the hills the iconic Hollywood sign calls home. Attractions include the Los Angeles Zoo and the Griffith Park Observatory. Admission to the park is free, though some attractions can require a fee.
Walking Tours
Don your walking shoes, reset your pedometer and get to know Los Angeles via the sneaker express. Explore on foot the historic places like Hollywood's famed star-lined boulevard. Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Roosevelt Hotel and the Pantages Theater all pay homage to Hollywood's golden yesteryear. This is a free activity most safely enjoyed alone during daylight hours. Studio tours provide a peak at Tinsel Town magic backstage. Stay to watch a television program filmed, generally at no cost.
Spas
When you are alone it is the perfect time to indulge in some serious pampering. Take a "me day" and enjoy one of Los Angeles's many spas. Many options are available, from all-service day spas and European modeled spas. The Beverly Hot Springs has 100-percent pure alkaline mineral waters, and guests slip into sparkling pools meant to rejuvenate their body and spirit.
Dining
Spend your solo time experiencing the different types of cuisines available in this diverse city. In addition to healthier international cuisine such as Mediterranean or Asian, Los Angeles also features many options for vegans and vegetarians, often in trendy districts. After you've walked and shopped The Promenade in Santa Monica, mosey a few blocks over to enjoy the vegan experience of Real Food Daily. This gourmet vegan cuisine is moderately priced and even offers many goodies from their bakery.
